Cinque Terre is an amazing destination with 5 little cities to explore. We would recommend visiting at least 2 of the 5 towns if you only have a day to spare. We hiked from Monterosso to Vernazza which was a very hot and humid hike, but it was so worth it overall! The hike is just over 2 miles with a lot of stairs. Once we arrived in Vernazza, we went swimming and ate dinner. We would recommend visiting other towns through the train or by hiking! It's an incredibly beautiful destination.
What is Cinque Terre?
Cinque Terre is a UNESCO world heritage site and consists of 5 beautiful little towns located in Northwest Italy. The 5 little towns are Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. All of the towns are connected by either a scenic train ride or hike!
We spent one day exploring Cinque Terre and it was an amazing experience. We started our day by taking the train from Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza. The train ride was about 30 minutes long and it was a great way to see all of the different town views! Once we arrived in Vernazza, we went swimming and ate dinner. After dinner, we hiked back to Monterosso al Mare which took us about 2 hours. The hike was very hot and humid, but it was so worth it because the views were incredible!
Overall, we had an amazing time in Cinque Terre! We would definitely recommend visiting at least 2 of the 5 little towns. If you have time, we would also recommend hiking between each town because the views are incredible!
